 Around 20-22 years ago, we have a chance to saw pewterware at Malaysia with a variety of designs. At that time we didn’t interest just like the color and surface of pewterware. We didn’t know what it made from, only know it call Pewter. A few years ago, we saw it again in Europe (Germany and Belguim). We ask them, what it made from. The answer we got is Tin.
With the information when we studying. We only knew that Tin is a abundant natural resource of southern of Thailand. At that time Tin were export at number three of nation revenue (After rice and teakwood). A further study, we knew that Malaysia has an abudant of Tin too. Because Malaysia was a colony of European country, so this make them know how to manufacture Pewter since 100 years ago. At that time in Thailand, noone manufature and sell Pewterware.
With the experience to live next to the temple when was a kid. We have saw the making mold, making medal, melting alloy, pouring into the mold. With this experience, we have a chance to gave them tin to pouring in to the mold instead of brass. After removing from the mold, we get a buddha statue with silver color. With the possibility to manufacture a small animal statue (elephant, horse, rabbit and etc.). With the adapt the design of mold or engraving picture on the mold, so we can penetrate product to the market. This is the cause we start our company. In the past twenty years with Bangkok Pewter, the manufacturing process and the mold making has been develop till today. Now we can manufacture at a large quantity at once. Also the development of raw materials to meet the standard to export to other countries.With the acceptance by shops and agents around the world. |

Tin 97% Copper 1% Antimony 2%
Manufacturing Process
1. Put Pewter in stove ( at 190-250 celsius degree)
2. Prepare the Mold
3. Pour the melted Pewter into the mold
4. Wait for the temperature to cool down
5. Remove the mold
6. Cut and trim unnecessary part
7. Cut the curve and edge
8. Attach the part together
9. Scrape off the surface |
